State of Oklahoma Historical Document

This is a Supreme Court document from 1919 for the State of Oklahoma.

The document states:

"By these presents be it known that, On the 20th day of December 1919 Clarence Lohmann, Esquire, having shown that he is a citizen of the United States residing at Pawhuska, in the State of Oklahoma, and that he is possessed of a good moral character, and has the requisite qualifications to entitle him under the rules of this Court, without an examination to practice law in the Supreme and all inferior Courts of the State of Oklahoma; were upon an order was made admitting him to practice and having taken the prescribed oath that he will support, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Oklahoma; that he will do no falsehood or consent that any be done in Court, and that if he should know of any he will give knowledge thereof to the Judges of the Court or some one of them, that it may be reformed; that he will not wittingly willingly or knowingly promote, sue or procure to be sued, any false or unlawful suit, or give aid or consent to the same, that he will delay no man for Sucre or malice, but will act in the office of attorney in this Court according to his best learning and discretion, with all good fidelity as well to the Court as to his client; In virtue of which he is entitled to exercise and enjoy all the rights, privileges and powers of an attorney and counsellor of the Courts named."

The document is signed by the Chief Justice at the time, Thos. H. Owens along with 8 other justices and 1 clerk.

The document is mounted to cardboard and framed.

The document has some wear with yellowing, foxing, and some small holes. The frame has wear, where the finish is worn along the edges.
